We launched Plant the Peace in 2018 to help promote free education and carbon sequestration through fun games and planting trees. Since launching the initiative, more than one million questions have been answered correctly, and you’ve fostered the planting of over 140,000 trees across the world.
This project also birthed two new incredible social enterprises: Glass Half Full NOLA and Green Disco. Glass Half Full is an initiative that was originally started by Plant the Peace in New Orleans, LA, and ultimately blossomed into its own entity — from our university backyard crushing glass to a 40,000+ square foot processing facility. Green Disco works to make live events greener. They provide folks with an easy and measurable way to give back to the planet, by partnering with event organizers to help them become carbon-negative.
As we roll into 2022, it is time that we close the doors on this incredible journey, to magnify our impact in other ways. We’re beyond grateful to each and every one of you — our users, supporters, and donors. We could not have done this without you.
We hope that you learned something along the way, and take pride in knowing that millions of pounds of carbon will be sequestered from the atmosphere every year because of you.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for coming along on this journey.
